If you're young Druid heading out of the safety of Shadowglen and venturing into Dolanaar, then it means one thing... Its time for you to consider one important choice for your character: Professions.I've been putting some thought in this and I've decided I want to get some professions I could easily explain or justify with RP. I also want to get one profession that could be useful to me in the game, and not only gathering professions for moneymaking. After some considerations this are the profession pairings I'm most inclined to get.
Herbalism + Alchemy: This one is pretty self-explicative. Herbalism is there to provide the ingredients I would need in order to brew kick-ass Potions and Elixirs. Transmutes are also useful, not to mention a good source of income. Herbs would be mostly used by me, although I could sell some of them from time to time or when I needed the cash. All in all, this is one of my favorite choices.
Skinning + Leatherworking: I've heard that Leatherworking is not terribly impressive at this moment. However I think it could be useful for me. Skinning is there as the source of hide and leather. Skinning is also a moderately good source of income if you sell the surplus leather you get from skinnable creatures.
Mining + Jewelcrafting: This could be a bit more challenging from the RP point of view, but not hard to understand how it can be useful. I've never raised a Jewelcrafter myself, and while I know about their usefulness in higher levels, I'm not too sure what good things for a Druid like Alindore can be crafter in the low-mid level range. Mining could be a great source of income, but I'm not really inclined to this profession pairing, at least not as much as Herbalism + Alchemy.
There's also the possibility (which I don't like terribly, but I'm considering it too) of getting two gathering professions until I'm 70. This only as a way of generating cash. Since I'm here in this new Realm and I don't have any high-level characters here, this might not be a bad idea at all.
I might delve deeper into the subject of professions later on and do some more analysis on how they benefit a Druid in the long term, but now it's time to make the choice. Sure, you can always change your professions if you're not satisfied, but I don't really like the idea of wasting time switching professions. I will make my mind soon and stick to them to the very end. Onward to Dolanaar!

I think you should grab herbalism/alchemy, just because they seem the most useful for you, i mean, yeah you can come up and grab leather working, but in the end you'll realize that it wasn't what you wanted, becuse ecept for the pant enchants, there is not much to expect from there. this is just a sugestion though.
Thanks for the input, Patricia. I made up my mind regarding the combination of professions I would pick. I decided to take two gathering professions to help me raise some cash with Alindore, so I got Herbalism and Skinning. I'm going to keep Herbalism since once I hit 70 I'll drop Skinning and pick up Alchemy. Skinning will be used exclusively for profit, selling all the leather in the AH.
